Russia mulls adjustments to fuel prices damping mechanism

NUR-SULTAN, Nov 16 (PRIME) -- The Russian government, the Finance Ministry and the Energy Ministry are considering adjustments to the fuel prices damping mechanism for 2022, but no decisions have been made yet, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Tuesday.

“The Finance Ministry and the Energy Ministry are considering adjusting the damping mechanism. There are no decisions. We are discussing the issue,” he said.

“We are talking to the oil companies, to experts. There are proposals that are being considered by the Energy Ministry. Of course, we must predict the situation for the next year. Our task is to keep the prices below inflation.”
